Taking Your First Thai Massage Workshop...
Thai massage is a healing art equally balancing intentional energetic bodywork and physical manipulations of both the giver and receiver. With this specific bodywork being performed on the floor and your client clothed, you will be more open for movement and breathe than you have experienced with traditional table massage. Unlike our Western therapies, Thai massage primarily implements positions of kneeling, squatting, and kneeling warriors which demands full attention of your body to execute properly without injury. On a positive note, this removes stress from wrists and hands. If you are unsure about your capacity to perform a Thai massage, it is suggested that you engage in two to three gentle yoga classes in one day or try our Introduction to Thai Massage Course. This is not meant to deter students from participation in learning but really to prepare their bodies for the dynamics of each Thai massage class. Please notify us if you do have any physical limitations or if you are pregnant, so that we may provide you with the best environment to learn.
Student Policy: Bodhi Tree Learning Center provides workshops only to massage therapists seeking continuing education requirements to renew or maintain their current and active license, certification, or registration within their State laws and regulations. Bodhi Tree sincerely believes that all therapists practicing Thai Massage and Herbal Therapies should have an earned educational background in Anatomy and Physiology. The application of Thai massage is not only influencing the energetics of the body but is also a deep manipulation of the physical body that if not applied properly can hurt or injury the recipient. Bodhi Tree stands firm to only accept therapists who have completed a degree in massage therapy and intended to fulfill the continuing education requirements for licensure, certification, or registration in their dedicated profession.
Payment Policy: Once The Bodhi Tree Learning Center has received your completed registration form and course deposit ($100), a space in the chosen class will be reserved for you. You will be contacted by email or phone to confirm your request. Full balance is due 30 days prior to start of class. Deposits ($100) are non-refundable and non-transferable. With courses taught over two consecutive weekends, the student must be able to attend both to register for that class. By making a deposit or full payment, you are acknowledging you as the student understand this policy. Please note there is a limited selection of Bodhi Tree workshops for 2011 due to Laura Covington, director and teacher completing her training at the Rolfing Institute of Structural Integration in Boulder, CO. Laura looks forward to graduating at the end of 2011 and enhancing Bodhi Tree b workshops with this new gained knowledge and understanding of the human form.
