Introduction to Thai Massage
The art of Thai massage composes a beautiful healing relationship between the giver and the receiver. This ancient bodywork weaves together breathe, compression, movement and acupressure. In this 8 hour course, students will gain an understanding of the healing modality of Thai massage while cultivating the the rich elements that influenced this practice. The techniques learned in this 30 minute full body routine are an introduction to the many depths of Thai massage and healing. Students will be encouraged to participate daily in traditional Thai ceremonies as they are recognized in Thailand to further cultivate and understand this ancient modality.

Thai massage mats are not always provided. The Bodhi Tree Learning Center recommends mats from sunandmoonoriginals. This course is considered only an introduction and does not give the title of Thai massage therapist to those attending this course. Introduction to Thai Massage is designed to provide a basic level of understanding this complex system and expose the student to the culture of Thai healing.

Basic Thai Massage
Upon completion of any one class, all students will be granted authentic membership in the prestigious Shivagokomarpaj Lineage. Students will also receive a free personal invitational membership in the Tao Mountain Association, with full access to the TM member area and online forum.
Please note each state in the US governs laws protecting massage therapy, manual therapy, bodywork, and/or energywork. It is the student's responsibility to check their own local and state regulations if intended to practice these modalities for compensation.
Bodhi Tree Learning Center is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork as a continuing education Approved Provider, #450426-07. Massage therapists can receive CE Hours from the designated courses listed.

Traditional Thai Massage is an ancient healing therapy that intertwines massage, energy meridian work, acupressure, and passive yoga stretching. This 40-hour course educates students on the history, culture, and theory of Thai massage. Students will be able to perform a 90 minute Thai massage upon completion. Students will learn through class lectures, demonstrations, and many hours of supervised practice time. Proper instruction on body mechanics, client safety, and professional ethics will be taught. Students will be encouraged to participate daily in traditional Thai ceremonies as they are recognized in Thailand to further cultivate and understand this ancient modality.

Intermediate Thai Massage
This 40-hour course advances the therapist to a deeper understanding of Thai Massage techniques to better serve the client. The class reinforces the primary concepts and principles learned in the Basic course with further attention on body mechanics and postural alignment. Students will also be able to perform advance yoga stretches, and learn alternate variations, such as side-lying and seated, to further accommodate the client's needs. The class explores the difference between northern and southern style Thai massage. Lastly, the students will focus intensely on learning and palpating the ten Thai Sen lines along with theory and acupressure. This intermediate class continues to strengthen their understanding of Thai Medicine through daily lectures and meditating ceremonies.

You must have completed a 40-hour Basic Thai Massage course with Bodhi Tree or teacher approved equivalent, and be able to perform a 90-minute Thai massage without assistance.
Advanced Thai Massage
This 32-hour class builds on the training in basic and intermediate courses with the learning the fundamentals of Thai medicine and theory. Students expand their knowledge and explore Thai acupressure points, wind gate points, and Sen access points. The students will be introduced to Thai elemental theory in relation to the Thai massage routine and customize therapeutic treatments for the needs of the client. Meditating ceremonies will be performed daily to enhance the students appreciation for traditional Thai culture and indigenous artforms.

This class is geared towards certified or licensed massage therapists, registered yoga teachers, physical therapists, and other licensed healthcare professions. You must have completed a 40-hour Basic Thai massage course and have knowledge of the 10 main sen lines (our Intermediate Thai Massage or teacher approval of equivalent studies). It is recommended that you also have completed 100+ hours of experience with Thai massage through private practice.
